I hate to be “That guy” but I feel Ach Tempered monsters is very much the wrong way to go about keeping the game active

This is my first Monster Hunter game in the sense that, I bought it for myself on my own console and didn’t borrow it or watch others play as I did for the previous titles. I think this game is remarkable. I love it with all its charm, and beautifully realized weapons. However, I believe I had done everything I possibly could at HR 100, and that was even before Devljho. Everything past that was farming HUNDREDS of tempered monsters for decorations I never got. I eventually quit on that grind and put the game down for a month or two.

Kulve Taroth was definitely awesome, and brought a great feeling back. But again, farming her for the entire time she returns only to never get ANY of the weapons I’m looking for, threw me back as well. It’s to the point now that any time she pops up I just simply ignore it.

These Arch Tempered monsters just rub me the wrong way. They aren’t very different, outside of spongy health and absurd damage. They do not offer their specific armor as layered, or variations to their weapons. I was genuinely hoping Capcom would announce something different. I understand new monsters is asking too much, and we still have 2 others we know about that’ll come eventually. Yet, I still feel there is a lot left to be desired.

Why not make EVERY monster have a layered armor set? Give us a reason to go back to all of them and get those pieces you loved that weren’t viable for your sets. Arch tempered monsters should offer a variety of said monsters maxed weapon. Make them drop special decorations that can only come from their quest. Hell, give us the ability to combine an ailment with an element.

This grinding is now tedious, and I feel the magic has faded. Behemoth was great, but outside of his armor and layered armor, I have no reason to go back to him. I do love this game, and part of me is convinced that this game has laid the foundation for future games that will be far more satisfying in the end game.

This is simply my opinion, and I understand that others will feel different. All I’m saying is, the idea of running an arch tempered Zorah/Lunastra quest does the exact opposite of getting me excited.
