I only picked this game up a few days ago and I am already in love with it. I’ve never played anything like it, but after watching one of my friends play it I just had to play it too, and it’s already one of my favorite games. I am still learning though, I had to learn the hard way that you can’t play it like a hack n slash game and that you have to actually have a strategy, which is nice because it sets a completely different pace from what I’m used to. I don’t fully understand a lot of the mechanics, and while most things are things I can just google, these are things that I wasn’t really able to find any real answers to.
First of all, I was wondering if it’s possible to capture smaller monsters/animals like Kelbi and Jagras, or maybe Mosswine. I tried capturing some today and it didn’t work, but I didn’t wanna waste any of the tranq bombs in case those wouldn’t work either.
Second of all, is this a kind of game where I need to have a different set of armor for every occasion, or am I able to just get the strongest armor I can until it’s time for an upgrade? This is something that has really confused me because of all the different stats on each piece of armor.
Lastly, I am currently stuck on the quest where you have to kill an Anjanath. I have already looked at advice for it and I’m trying to follow it, but I’m still having trouble so I feel like there must be something I’m missing. Anjanath and Tobi-Kadachi were the first two monsters that I felt like were actually difficult to beat, and they were the ones that made me realize I needed to change the way I was playing. I am having trouble dodging Anjanath’s attacks because I am using the Aqua Slasher I and it is really slowing me down – sometimes after attacking I can’t roll out of the way fast enough. Is there a trick to this, or is there a weapon I would be better off using? I got to a point where I almost beat her (I made it all the way to her nest where she slept) and sadly that was where I died. Does this quest require more than one person? I don’t usually play monster hunter online because playing with real people makes me super anxious since I’m not good at the game yet, plus I don’t wanna deal with DCs.
Thank everyone for any help, hopefully my questions aren’t too stupid.
