r/MHKillscreen, so feel free to post your killscreens there. Rule #8's wording was shortened, as it had unnecessary code in the text from a separate back end part of the sub.)

Hello all,

Over the last few months, the moderation team has been receiving an increasing number of complaints/messages regarding the current state of the subreddit. Many of the issues brought to our attention were regarding topics such as: reposts/ad nausea (kill screens, decorations, carves…etc), karma farming, low quality posts, and just an overall increase in the toxic behavior between community members.

These complaints have not fallen on deaf ears. The members of the Moderation Team have discussed at great lengths what we overall, as a team, felt was best for the subreddit’s current state, and its overall future health/sustainability. We are all extremely passionate about MH:W, and want to do our very best to keep this already great community thriving. We feel transparency/community engagement are of upmost importance. There has been some restructuring in the moderation team, which we feel will help make things going forward A LOT more clear AND consistent.

With that being said, some of the rules have been changed/rewritten to not only make the subreddit a healthier environment, but also to create a more uniform atmosphere. I’m trying to keep this post as brief as possible, so please take the time to read the new rules, which have been updated on both the sidebar, and the wiki. We understand not everyone will agree with the changes, but overall, we have come to the conclusion that they will be overall best for the subreddit as a whole.

Obviously with any type of rule change(s), adjustments may have to be made on a case by case basis. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions on how to make something better, PLEASE SEND IT TO US VIA MODMAIL. We are fully committed to this community, and encourage you to send us your feedback (good or bad).

The last thing we want to discuss is the current flair system. Our original attempts of trying to use an autoflair system did not work out too well. *Starting in approximately 1-2 weeks*, we will be implementing a MANUAL post flair system. When making a post, Users will have to manually type a flair in brackets such as “”, “”, “”… etc. A full list of flairs will be made available in a subsequent post well before this goes into effect. After the initial 1-2 weeks, Automod will begin to automatically remove ANY post that does not have the proper flair. Again, we will make it clear when this is happening well in advance! During this transitionary time, we understand there might be an “adjustment period”. We will do our very best to help assist the community with the new changes. If you see improperly tagged posts after this change, please report it accordingly.

In closing, we want to thank you, the community members, for your continued support. We expect there might be a few bumps in the road ahead, but rest assured, our dedicated Moderation Team is here to help! Please remember, always be respectful to your fellow hunters and thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

The Moderation Team

Here are the new rules:

Guidelines

1. Submissions must directly relate to MHW

Topics that are not related to Monster Hunter: World will be removed. This includes posts that are low effort and attempts at “Karma Farming” (See rule 5). Meme posting is totally acceptable, but it must be evident some sort of effort went into making it. We fully encourage high quality (Dank) memes, as it can sometimes be the best content on the sub. Low quality memes are pretty obvious attempts at Karma Farming, and are subject to removal at moderator discretion.

2. Posts and Comments Must Be in English

We understand that MonsterHunterWorld has a worldwide fan base, but all posts and comments must be communicated via the English language.

3. Use the Search Bar First: DO NOT REPOST

Do not repost content that already exists on MonsterHunterWorld. This also includes posting topics that have been discussed in the past. Please take the time to use the search bar if you have a question. It's likely it may have been asked before. Doing so drastically reduces clutter on the subreddit's feed. Submissions that violate this rule will be removed. Multiple violations will result in a temporary/permanent ban (depending on severity).

4. Be Respectful. “Toxicity” Will NOT Be Tolerated!

While we have no problem with disagreements/discussions, the following behavior will NOT be tolerated: Insults, inciting pointless arguments, trolling, hate speech, discrimination, witch hunts against other members, etc. Posts that contain identifying information, including guesses at other party’s online/real ID’s, will also be removed and reported to reddit admins. Uncivil/toxic behavior of any kind will be removed at moderator discretion. Repeated offenses WILL result in a ban.

5. Low Effort/Karma Farming Posts Are NOT Allowed

Content or information that does not contribute to a meaningful discussion, or attempts at “Karma Farming” will be removed at moderator discretion. This includes, but is not limited to: Carves & Quest Results, Kill Screens, Decorations, Minor Achievements (trophies), Crafted Equipment collections, Investigations, pictures of TV/Monitor Screens,…etc. This content belongs on r/Memehunter or
r/MHKillscreen. Multiple offenses of this rule may result in a temporary/permanent ban.

6. Self-Advertising, Monetized Content, or Clickbait

No spam or clickbait content is allowed. These will be removed immediately. Self-Promotion that is thoughtful and well received, may be posted at a ratio of 9:1. Other self-promotion will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Twitch streams are not allowed under any circumstances without the express permission of the moderation team. Asking for money, donations, “social media follows” are not allowed. Failure to comply with this rule may result in a ban.

7. Posts Related to Cheating/Hacking/Game Mods

We have a zero-tolerance policy on posts that share/encourage hacks or cheating. These posts will be removed and you will be permanently banned. THE ONLY POSTS ALLOWED IN THIS CATEGORY ARE TRANSMOG AND QOL CONTENT! This will be enforced strictly. Prohibited posts & COMMENTS include: no links to ANY sites related to modding, damage mods, decoration drop rate alterations, or ANY OTHER GAME ALTERATION THAT MIGHT RESULT IN AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. There are many subreddits dedicated to such topics.

8. Spoilers

We do not allow unmarked Spoilers pertaining to story content in the title, body or comment section.

9. LFG Posts

All LFG posts should be posted on MonsterHunterClan, our partner subreddit, unless there is an event megathread that explicitly states that LFG is allowed inside that thread. Any LFG posts will be removed.

10. Art Submissions Must Adhere to Specific Criteria

When you create an art submission, please follow these simple guidelines:

(a) Artist’s name in title;

(b) Link to source in thread;

(c) Post flaired as Art.

(d) NSFW images MUST tagged appropriately and will be monitored closely by the moderation team. There is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on posting of pornographic/lewd material. Violating this policy (section (d)) will result in an IMMEDIATE and PERMANENT BAN.
