Seriously. I got so bored of the end game being able to just flashpod everything in the vacinity and turning the game into a laser light show where Rathalos could never be as intimidating as he once was, or how Teostras mighty supernova (which used to frighten people) could just be snubbed everytime by a single blinding bug. Having flashpods act like status ailments is more in tune with the recent games where they build up immunity as you do it. Increasing rewards was also the right way to handle the nerf.
The main issue with this was that flashpods used to require some amount of skill to use, and were slightly harder to make, making preperation more important.
You needed a flashbug+bomb casing.
- bomb casings required sap plants+stone/iron ore
- you threw in the vacinity your character was facing, and could not aim it
- combining mid fight was slightly harder
- monsters built immunity each time they were successfully flashed
Grab flashbug and autocombo or snap into he combine menu and bust one out, no casing needed
no immunity build up and large finishing moves can be interupted everytime making flash spam the way to play
aimable and you can typically just shoot at your feet or the sky to bring the down
Since they nerfed it I'm happy. I'm sad it was only for tempered monsters, because I feel like high rank as stupid easy as is. Now all they need to do is fix the flinching threshold with GS on TCS the fact that I can near guarantee a flinch with it everytime is mildly dissapointing.
EDIT: I forgot to mention combining success rate. This had an impact on trying to make more in the field. Now your guaranteed your flashpods…
