BEHEMOTH + AZURE STARLORD PC SETS
- UPDATED FOR PATCH: 2018-12-21
These will include all weapon classes, and reduce the jewel requirements for most sets!
Styx weapons and mechanics like Protective Polish will mostly phase out with this update, as new weapons become viable with the prevalence of Master’s Touch. Some (Melee CE) should receive yet another substantial boost once AT Teostra releases early next month.
For those of you having trouble with this particular encounter, here’s a guide by /u/TheGameconomist in which he explains how to easily farm Behemoth mats solo:
/* 2018-12-20: * Optimized all weapon classes for the +Behemoth meta. * Removed inefficient / old weapon choices. * Changed the format of most albums for easy handling. * Included short general descriptions, tips & alternatives under every build. */
I’ll try to keep this post maintained and updated until PC and Console parity.
The following builds aim to represent a solo-focused meta, while not necessarily a speed-run meta, and generally won’t compromise damage for ease-of-use, deco availability, etc. – unless synergies demand it (e.g. Health Augment and Peak Performance).
Due to the nature of some weapons and encounters I’ll try to include some less “all-in” builds when necessary (e.g. Lance, SnS, Kulve, etc.).
All weapon albums will include a short tip or description.
All of the following weapon categories are listed at random, their sets are serviceable and try to fill a niche in their class while keeping with the theme of this thread.
While I'll always recommend you check HoneyHunter's web tool and configure your own jewel collection there, whenever you're missing decos a quick and easy solution if short on Attack Boost or Expert jewels would be to simply exchange one for the other to cap; Health Boost and Fortify are also friendly no-fuss considerations here.
If you find there’s a correction or suggestion to be made, or these don’t fit your style, please use HoneyHunter’s MHW Builder (https://honeyhunterworld.com/mhwb) and try to format your post in a way it helps others and myself find it (e.g. “Here’s my GunLance Long 4 alternative with Evade Extender – Link. It improves/changes x”). Let me know if you catch any mistake please, and I’ll try updating as soon and as possible.
Thank you for reading!

This is just a flexible framework to get you started. Weapon and Charm slots are free.
Basically, until you hit mid High Rank you're just looking for defense and/or a few good bonuses like Health Boost, Attack, Handicraft, Critical Eye, Weakness Exploit, possibly +Elemental Damage.
You don't need any of these but they help, especially health. Bows like constitution. Lance could use Guard 3. GunLance and Switch Axe, Evade Extender 2.
Attack and Health are the better generic charms early game. Some “Ironside” charm for shields (Guard+, not to be confused with "Guard charm" that gives Defense+), and Constitution for bow. Handicraft if your weapon hits white sharpness.
