So for context, I haven't played the previous games, and mostly play Dual Blades and Bows in World – and of those much more the DBs than the bows.
Both are characterized as high mobility, and high DPS if they can focus on weakpoints, but DBs in particular struggle hitting tall/flying/super-big monsters, and don't create attack windows through KOs and mounts very well (well bows can KO quite well, but basically stop playing for mobility when they play for that). To the point where lower DPS weapons like GS will often still work out better against many of the Tempered monsters just because they can reach high and get KOs/Mounts through regular play to open up DPS windows, and use things like shoulder charge or block windows to negate knock-back/interrupt moves.
So for me, the most fun monsters to fight with DBs have been Kirin and, oddly enough, Tzitzi-yaku. They're small enough that DB or Bow dashes can circle around them from head to tail, they do fast but telegraphed short ranged attacks so you benefit from weapons that can dodge in and out quickly, and they don't have random unstoppable mechanics like flying off or wind pressure or jumping off/spinning around that suddenly put their heads 50 yards away from you. You can focus on learning their attacks and using your dashes and combos to keep high uptime on their heads.
Obviously, Titzy isn't actually hard, so that leaves Kirin for MHW. So I fire up A Flash in the Pan now and then to beat up the 3 Titzy, or work at AT Kirin (which I'm not that great at, but seriously, look how beautifully
– no KO cheese, just pure knowing his combos and distances and maintaining uptime till Kirin dies). But that seems to be it for fights where I don't spend most of my time running around giant ass monsters, or clunkily switching to Flash Pods to bring stuff down just so I can hit it.
So are there other similar monsters in the MH universe that might be added to World? Stuff with small hitboxes and fast attacks to duck in and out to punish?
