I just got done watching a Gaijin Video about Generations Ultimate (or whatever it's going to be called) on switch and at the end he mentioned missing some things from Classic Monster Hunter and missing things from New (World) Monster Hunter. So what are some things you're going to miss and some things you're excited to return too?
For me, I'm super excited for the return of weapons being cool looking. Not "hammer with a pink feather" vs. "hammer with a blue feather" I'm looking forward to a hammer that is clearly a rocket powered hammer, or one that is a giant tooth. That's something World did really bad at, and even the armors are okay but could be way better.
On the flip side I'm going to miss the UI and QoL changes to the game like infinte whetstones, auto crafting, radial menus. Those things help me to just get to the heart of the game faster. The hunting of monsters. Not worrying about forgetting whetstones or not having enough, not worrying about forgetting to craft all your potions.
And one thing I'm mixed on is a return to paintballing. I don't know where I stand with that. I enjoy it to a degree because it's a classic mechanic however… Scoutflies make more realistic sense to track a monster than throwing paint at it…
How about everyone else? I'm sure the Switch Monster Hunter isn't new to everyone but I guess it brings up a new conversation after we've had a break from the classic Monster Hunter games and had quite a few months with just World. So a refresh if you would.
