The Crew 2

Extremely unpopular opinion: The Crew players may have switched to Need For Speed: Heat more than we thought.

The Crew 1 - Extremely unpopular opinion: The Crew players may have switched to Need For Speed: Heat more than we thought.

Disclaimer: Although I use to be a NFS fan. I quit playing NFS long time ago and spending a good amount of time on TC1. My favorite city in that game is LV (I think, I don't remember much as I didn't play it in a long time.)

Appearently, some people comment on the YouTube video of the latest TC2 update about how the update is useless and NFSH is their better choice for racing game. So I search NFSH in YT to see the gameplay of that game.

Before we continue, I'd like to remind all of us about Need For Speed: Payback. NFSP takes a lot of inspiration from TC1, car class, the bigger open world with plenty area for offroading (hell, both of these games have a UFO as an Easter Egg), TC1-ish storyline and similar original soundtrack composer (

Joseph Trapanese). One could say that NFSP is Ghost's TC1 rip-off. However, a lot of things made NFSP infamous, its microtransactions (pretty much everything on TC1 could be bought with bucks, while a type of loot box in NFSP must be aquire via microtransactions), its lack of cockpit view, its drift-to-turn physics, its chessy and cringy voice acting and storyline, its card-like upgrade system. (Better performance parts are granted to the player by chance. This is also a big problem in TC2, I know)

However, in NFSH, Ghost managed to make a lot of things better: The story and voice acting have been improved, the open world (Palm city) is now smaller but denser than the last game (Fortune valley from NFSP), The upgrade system now no longer depends on chance. There is also no longer car class: it becomes a 2d area of performance style of a car, where X axis represent how good this car is better for drifting or racing, and Y axis represent weather this car is good on the track or on the off-road. The intense police chase is back. And there is also a huge surprise in the final mission in that game so I hid it in the following spoiler. The story in this game involved around a cop who abuse his power to sell illegal impounded cars. When the player's crew managed to expose his actions. He escaped in the BMW M3 GTR. (The same model from 2005 NFSMW) Requiring the player to take him down. Also, Ghost only says that there will be dlc in NFSH but not microtransactions. (Lets be fair, the game still doesn't have the cockpit view and still use the same drift to turn physics)

Looking back at TC series, I'm afread that if not enough problems have been fixed, people will not keep playing them, and Ubisoft may shut it down.

There is a bunch of problems with TC2 that the dev doesn't take seriously: No police chase, Night time sucks (This has never been a problem with any NFS nor Forza game), the low-detailed open world and the its chessy and cringy voice acting and storyline, the jumpy physics, better performance parts are granted to the player by chance, its online-only aspect etc.

So yeah, the dev, I don't mind playing TC series with these problems, but a lot of people do. Please take this message into your consideration.

Yours sincerely.
